Find ways to add quality and interest to your pencil lettering with
Amity Parks
The recording is now available upon purchase.
Access is available through June.
In this 3-hour workshop we will work with pencils to create dynamic and interesting lines for our lettering. The quality of a line can help tell the story of your lettering by creating mystery, motion, texture, and other effects. We'll design a letterform or short word, and apply several different approaches to the line to create variety and graphic power in your work.
This workshop is a follow-on from the recent, POP! Mini-session.
Supply List:
- Mechanical pencil (0.3 mm or 0.5 mm lead size)
- Several wooden drawing pencils of different hardness such as 2H, H, HB, 2B 4B & 6B
- Small eraser (like the Tombow mono zero or similar)
- Regular white eraser
- Small blending stump
- Paper: a few sheets (9x12" or so) of drawing paper such as Strathmore 400 series
- A piece of lettering (any style) with approx. 1'' letters to practice shadows on
Who is this session for?
Experienced lettering artists and calligraphers who have been wanting to level up your pencil lettering.

What is the difference between the Mini-Session and the Workshop?

The 3-hour "A Fine Line" Workshop is a deep dive into pencil lettering with Amity.
NOTE: You don't have to sign up for both, but you might enjoy participating in both sessions!
