It was a good lettering year...and it's about to get better!

Thank you for signing up for the Lettering Knowledge Deposits!

As promised, I am sharing free lettering resources, upcoming courses, and providing discounts to early adopters.

Thanks to your input, I am developing a series of courses and writing a book in 2018. I've learned what your needs were through 1:1 sessions and lettering courses, but I'm open to more suggestions. Please reach out to me if you have a lettering itch you need scratched.

Whether we meet up in person or virtually, I look forward to lettering with you in 2018!

Please be sure to leave your name and email so that we can keep in touch!

It's All About the Masters!

Over the past few years it has been a practice of mine to take workshops from master calligraphers, sign painters, and graffiti artists. Now it's my dream come true to share that opportunity with you!

Please join me in "Lettering with the Masters" where each month we will visit with a different master in our field (or adjacent) so we may letter together.

We are launching on January 1. You can use the code MASTERS to receive a discount if you sign up that day. Click below to learn more!

December Bonus: Holiday Lettering with Sandra Dirks

When Sandra asked me to join her for the holidays, I was a bit nervous because the talent that went before me was incredible! This lettering project was a fun adventure that allowed me to explore the different ways to apply lettering for the holiday season. You can click the link below for more information. After the show we will share links to the video on her blog along with resources, and a free envelope PDF available both in German and English! Check out the previous shows too! While they are only available in German, it's fun to draw along with some of the best in our field!

Addressing Envelopes

Whether it's a holiday, a friend's birthday, you are an awesome pen pal, or just want to impress your letter carrier, this video will give you tips and resources needed to make addressing envelopes fun and easy.

This video came out in November but it was just after the last Lettering Knowledge Deposit but I wanted you to have access to it.

Grab your markers, some envelopes, and let's get to work!

Local Classes in Durango, Colorado

Now that I'm back in Southwest Colorado, I'm offering some local classes at the Durango Arts Center. I am teaching a 3-week teen/adult brush lettering class and a workshop for artists called "Art Career Theorem."

Thanks to the support from the Colorado Creative Industries and the National Endowment for the Arts, I will be expanding the model into a train-the-trainers program for coaches to become art coaches! Virtual training will also be available in late 2018.

Meet me in Vancouver!

Last year's sell-out workshop was a hit! So this year we are planning to expand the workshop to cover even more materials and lettering styles.

We are still working out the details on dates (likely end of February/early March), location, and prices and would love your input!

The adventure continues!

Last month I shared 3 interviews I had with Laurens Bonnema, Christina Merkley and Michelle Walker.

I recently had the pleasure of being part of the Sketchnote Army Podcast with Mike Rohde where he asked me about the 6-month road trip after leaving DC and making my way back to Southwest Colorado. We also talked about the tools that I use in my work and tips that I have for other visual practitioners.
